From the year when Dainichido dance is said to have been transmitted, Heisei 30 will mark exactly 1300 years.

To commemorate this milestone year, a special performance was held with UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The first part is a performance by the Twelve Sonkai, a gagaku group composed of current and former members of the Imperial Household Agency. We performed customs dances from the Yuki region based on waka poems about the scenery of Akita Prefecture, which was selected as the country of Yuki at the Heisei Daijo Festival.

In the second part, all the main dances of Dainichido Bugaku (Gongenmai, Komamai, Uhenmai, Torimai, Godaisonmai, Koshomai, and Dengakumai) were specially exhibited.
